Best Food near KSL Mall. Din Kee Hainanese Beef Noodles 鼎记牛腩粉

Din Kee 鼎记牛腩粉 is one of my favourite beef noodle stalls in Johor and Singapore. The stall has been moving around in JB since I first tasted them 2 years ago. They are now in Restoran 118 coffee shop near KSL mall. I can't wait to share the good news with folks who like to hang around KSL mall, especially friends from Singapore.

Din Kee is a little stall inside Restoran 118 coffee shop just a stone's throw from KSL mall.

Din Kee Beef Noodle is an inside stall not easily visible from outside 118 coffee shop.

Ah Koon started Din Kee in 2007 using the recipe he learned from his Hainanese father-in-law. Ah Koon's wife Pei Yun still runs the stall at Restoran 101 kopitiam in Bukit Indah where I first met them.

I had a RM10 bowl, the smallest serving. (There are also medium RM13 and large RM15 servings.)

There were several pieces of these chunky beef. The beef were tender, juicy and had a nice beef flavour.

Nice bouncy jelly-like beef tendons.

There are also a couple of pieces of spongy beef tripe.

The kway teow is tossed in a tasty blend of dark soy sauce and gooey thicken beef stock.

I love this gooey beefy stock. It is made by boiling beef bones and meat. The resulting beefy tasting stock is then thicken with starch.

The beef noodles come with a small bowl of nice herbal soup with pronounced 草石蠶 (Chinese artichoke) aroma and taste.

👉 Get beef noodles at Din Kee with lots of beef (believe it or not, this is not so common nowadays). The noodles are tossed in a nice savoury sauce with underlying beefy flavour. The big chunks of beef are tender and juicy with natural beefy sweetness.

I firmly believe that taste is subjective and so, warmly welcome differing viewpoints as it makes this blog better :-D But, I disapprove negative comments that are anonymous or hide behind fake identities. I feel that that is unethical in the same way as speaking ill of others behind their backs. I look forward to all your comments :-D Thank you. (Date: 18 Dec 2015)
